ADHD-Aware Alcohol Support

You may already know that alcohol is playing a bigger part in your life than you want it to. What may be harder is working out what needs to change, especially if drinking helps you switch off, cope, socialise or quieten things down.

I offer ADHD-aware counselling for people who want to understand and change their relationship with alcohol. You do not need a label, and you do not need to have decided what change should look like before getting in touch.

I offer a free initial consultation - you don't have to decide whether therapy with me is right for you before getting in touch. We can speak about what you are looking for & what working with me is like.

You can decide from there what next steps are right for you.

When Alcohol Is Doing More Than You Want

You may find yourself setting limits and then moving them, drinking more often than you intended, or relying on alcohol to switch off at the end of the day.

For some people, the issue is not simply how much they drink. It is that alcohol has started to feel like one of the few reliable ways to slow things down, feel different or get some relief.

Therapy can help you look at what is happening without reducing everything to ADHD, alcohol or a label.

Take the next step

You do not need to have it all worked out before coming to therapy.

You may have an ADHD diagnosis, be waiting for an assessment, or simply feel that alcohol has become harder to manage than you want it to be.

We can look together at what is happening, what you would like to change, and what might help you move in that direction.

ADHD, Alcohol and Relationships

Alcohol does not only affect the person drinking. It can also change communication, trust, closeness and the way conflict develops in a relationship.

If ADHD is part of the picture too, it can become difficult to work out what belongs to alcohol, what belongs to the relationship, and what may be connected with ADHD.

Therapy can help you slow that down and look at what is actually happening between you, without reducing everything to blame or diagnosis.
